pianoman24601 Posted July 30, 2006 #1 Share Posted July 30, 2006 I'm interested in knowing what to expect when Crown Princess sails out of Red Hook in Brooklyn- on which side is the Statue of Liberty visible? How visible is it, both when docked and when sailing by? What other views will we have of New York and from where on the ship is the best viewing? Thanks for any input on this. The Statue Of Liberty will be on your starboard side. You will be south of any skyline, so the only other landmark that is notable would be the Verrazano Narrows Bridge. It is pretty impressive. Sandytoes Posted July 30, 2006 #3 Share Posted July 30, 2006 Could you see Coney Island Parachute Jump on the Port Side? If you never seen the The Statue Of Liberty you'll be amazed....She's beautiful ! ! !
smeyer418 Posted July 30, 2006 #4 Share Posted July 30, 2006 Sandytoes-Could you see Coney Island Parachute Jump on the Port Side? Yes but you get a pretty close view of it after the V-N Narrows bridge. It will be on your left.

It is pretty impressive. the financial district skyline is right there.. where the twin towers used to be. its a pretty amazing and beautiful view. with both the statue and skyline right there. Nliedel Posted July 30, 2006 #6 Share Posted July 30, 2006 There is a "hole" in the skyline where the towers used to be. Yes, yes, "Duh Nancy" but I'd not been to NYC since before 9/11. Really sobering and sad.

Love Boat Dream Posted July 30, 2006 #9 Share Posted July 30, 2006 I have wonderful photos taken of the Dawn last year going under the Golden Gate bridge. A past cruiser took them and posted them. I'd love to have some of the Crown leaving NY!
