glaswurst Posted July 31, 2006 #1 Share Posted July 31, 2006 I will be doing a 2-day pre-cruise visit to San Francisco prior to a Panama Canal sailing September 29, 2007. I've decided to just make a choice from Celebrity's hotel offerings which are the following: 1) Mark Hopkins Inter-Continental 2) The Argonaut 3) The Tuscan Inn I'm not familiar with any of these properties and wondered if any of you could enlighten me as to which might be an enjoyable place to stay. Thanks, Diane
CONVERT94 Posted August 23, 2006 #2 Share Posted August 23, 2006 All very good choices. Tuscan Inn is by far closest to the ship pier, right at fishermans wharf, pier 39 area.
Spikesgirl Posted August 23, 2006 #3 Share Posted August 23, 2006 wanted to wish you a great visit to the City. You will have a wonderful time in SF. Make sure to at least drive through Golden Gate park, even if you don't have the time to viist its many attractions, it is still lovely and peaceful. Sail safe, Charlie
sultan_sfo Posted August 23, 2006 #4 Share Posted August 23, 2006 I assume Pricing is not the same for all the three. If transfer to ship is included -- Mark Hopkins is an elegant old SF Land Mark Hotel -- see it in many of the movies. Argonaut has a good location and came on the scene recently remodeled as an hotel (no idea what it was before). Tuscan Inn (Best Western) is the lowest in the direct booking price category but good location / good value for $$ if booked through Priceline. /Sultan
