I had (and still have at times) the same problem with the abbreviations. Here are a few of the ones used most often:

 

LOL = laughing out loud

ROFL = rolling on the floor laughing

IMO/IM(H)O = in my (humble) opinion

BTW = by the way

 

The ships also have abbreviations. Some make sense, others don't. There have been lists printed on this board, but I don't remember them. I do know that CB = Caribbean Princess because CP was taken for a different ship.

FCD referrs to the Food Control Device, which is used by some cruisers to limit the weight gain during cruising. It comes in several flavors, ranging from the more invasive (bypass surgery or belly band) to the less invasive (having your jaws wired shut, or your spouse slapping your hand when you reach for the second roll). :D
