which deck is best for an inside room?

Where is the best deck when on a ship?We do not mind the inside rooms but what deck is better when in an inside room?Bottom deck or a deck in the middle?Or maybe it just really dosen't matter?

I don't think it really matters unless you really want to minimize motion. Then you want to go low and towards the middle. Of course wherever you are you want to keep an eye on what's right above, below, and next to you. It's also worth considering how close you are to elevators and facilities you would likely use very often.

I like to be within one deck of the promenade and close to the stairs/elevators for easy access to outside if you are sailing by something interesting.

 

The other option is to be either very far forward or aft if there are open decks. Foward is great for Alaska, and being on the stern gets you away from the wind. Check deck plans and/or other forums to see if there are any open decks This doesn't work as well now as most ships have gotten away from open stern decks and they re now premium balcony suite locations.

On the older Crown/Regal Princess fior example you could almost have a private balcony on the stern to yourself.

like doug pointed out-- its gonna depend on where you are heading.

 

Most inside cabins are the same-- the higer you go the more you will pay. The higher you go the more of a sway the ship gets.

 

No matter what deck-- you will have to travel sometime to get someplace. Food and pools are located high.. shows and dining rooms are located low/.
