Cash on a cruise

My DBF and I are taking our first cruise at the end of the month. We were planning on using cash for our onboard account. If anyone has used cash please let us know how it works (i.e. fund account beforehand, when to settle bill, ect). Thanks in advance for your responses. :D

You give them a specific amount, say $500 or any amount that you think you would spend on the ship. If you spend that and you have extra they issue you a check at the end of the cruise.

And if you get close to spending the amount you've given them -- they'll contact you and let you know that they want more!:) Always give more than you think you'll need to avoid a "surprise" later in the cruise!

I've always used cash up front; have always gotten $ back at the end as well.
