HollyfromSC Posted August 14, 2006 #1 Share Posted August 14, 2006 Hi! We are going to be on the Valor in November. There is a big group of us going. My in-laws have been assigned room 6270 and it is near the elevators. They tend to go to bed relatively early and I was wondering if anyone thinks the elevators near their room is going to very noisy at night? Anyone who can give us advice about this room or location--it would be great!!! Thank you! Holly
serene56 Posted August 14, 2006 #2 Share Posted August 14, 2006 Holly: Your inlaws have a great location. Not much walking to get somewhere. They wont hear the elevators..actually must listen even when you are in the room with the elevators...its a quiet ding. Besides they will be sooo tired and the beds are sooo comfortable. (I also bet they will not be in bed as early as you think)
HollyfromSC Posted August 14, 2006 Author #3 Share Posted August 14, 2006 Serene--thanks for the response. My husband and I were over their house last night and they got all worried when they saw their room assignment. I figured that location was better then over the casino or lounge. Anyway---thanks for reassuring me..and now I can reassure them. :D Holly
serene56 Posted August 14, 2006 #4 Share Posted August 14, 2006 we had cabin 1211 on the legend-- and stressed because of the elevators. Stressing over cabin noise is a waste of energy. The newer ships do so much better at soundproofing the cabins then the older ships. So much other things to stress over--- like what kind of dessert will i get the first night. You are all gonna have a great time.
HollyfromSC Posted August 14, 2006 Author #5 Share Posted August 14, 2006 So.....true!!!! They are great people--but they are used to a certain planned vacation each year---and they take the same vacation every year. This is a new adventure for them. They do usually go to bed early--they don't drink, gamble, etc---but I still think they will go to the shows and be up until at least midnight. We are making them come to late seating with us for dinner---so it will keep them up later. :)
teaach Posted August 18, 2006 #6 Share Posted August 18, 2006 I was on the Triumph last Feb. Our room was right next to the elevators and we never heard a peep from them.
