Hotel near San Jose Costa Rica airport?

I'll be on Windstar January 13-20 and need to book one night near San Jose airport before, and one after (12th & 20th). Any suggestions for a hotel with reasonable prices, clean rooms, airport shuttle service? Thanks --

We have stayed at the Central Colon Hotel in San Jose. It's about 15 minutes from the airport. Very clean, good rates ($75 - $100/night). I don't know about the airport shuttle as we had a rental car. However, you can take a taxi cheaply. Go to their web page http://www.hotelcentrocolon.com/ Nice bar, cheap drinks. We really liked the Korean resturant in the hotel. Also, has American type resturant in hotel. There is also a casino in the hotel. People were friendly and very helpful.

I appreciate your recommendation. We have decided on a small B&B, only 3 years old, recommended by Costa Rica Coaches. It sounds charming, very local, and small -- and has shuttle service to/from the airport, which I will be using both on arrival and departure. Its name is Hotel La Riviera B&B. In late January 2007 I will be able to tell you all about it!
