Does anyone know what dive operation Carnival uses out of Grand Cayman?

My DH dives and I don't and we are trying to plan what to do in that port. He wants to dive and is trying to decide to do it on his own or go through the ship. Thanks for your help!

I'm not sure who Carnival uses, but whoever it is, they will be using a larger boat and there will probably be a fairly large number of divers who will be divided into groups with a divemaster for each group. The bottom times will be given by the DM and they will be follow the leader dives.

If your husband wants a high quality dive experience with a small group, he should check out http://www.neptunesdivers.com Unlike the ship's excursion, Neptune's will take snorkelers out on their dive trips, so you and DH could stay together, if you want.

Thanks for the info I will have my DH check it out! He would probably like me going along for the ride! Keeps me from spending money shopping!

Last summer, I did a wonderful shore dive, about a 10 minute walk from the tender pier. I used Eden Rock divers. I did 2 tanks, and they were very enjoyable dive. Lots of coral, and swimthroughs. Schools of tarpon. The swimthroughs were awesome.

I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post a link, just do a search, for Eden Rock Dive center. You can make reservations in advance and I believe that 2 tank guided dives were around $85.00. While not the best that Grand Cayman has to offer, (we just got back from a week of diving on the East End of the island), they're still fun dives. I booked early in the morning, (around 9:30, I think), and still had plenty of time to bum around Georgetown. I don't think that you'll be disappointed.

I'll be happy to answer any questions that you may have! Hope this helps!

Kevin dove there a couple of years ago when we had another couple with us. I didn't think about them because he is alone with out a dive partner but if they offer guided tours that would probably work also!

thanks,

Dive shops at Eden rock are http://www.edenrockdive.com and http://www.abanksdivers.com.ky

Another shore dive site that is close to the tender dock is http://www.sunsethouse.com/

http://www.divetech.com also has a excellent shore dive but requires a taxi to get to. The dive there would be less crowded.

Hi,

Thanks for all of the suggestions on shore dives. I have dove Eden Rock and had a great time in the dive thru caves. However this trip I have no dive partners to dive with, so shore dives are out. I am looking for a good 2 tank dive that can pick me up at the dock. I hope to do a good wall dive since in all of my visits to Cayman, I have yet to dive a wall there. I am trying to compare the available options against the dive operator that Carnival uses. I have yet to find out who Carnival uses.

Thanks,

Kevin
