Proposing On The Valor!!

C-TOWN BROWNS

I wonder if you could work something out before hand through Carnival to have something set up on deck with a table, chair, candles and bottle of champaign?

Something like leaving her in the cabin for a minute "to do something" and a few minutes later a steward or the purser come to the cabin and gets her "because something happened" and they escort her to you sitting at the candle lit table on deck.

Take some work and dilligence as well as cooperation by Carnival staff...but you'd have to imagine they do this stuff all the time, right?

It's so sweet, I just love it!

My only suggestion is to do it the first night on the ship if you can so you both can enjoy the excitement of just getting engaged on your entire trip.

If it were me, I'd love the romantic dinner at the restaurant or even a sunset proposal on the deck.

Only if you are 100% sure of a yes, otherwise it could be a looonnng cruise. :o

first off....congrats!! DH and I have been married for 3 weeks today!!!!

your proposal depends on you and your GF. are you the romantic type anyway? do the dinner thing! you said you are young.....why not something really fun that she wont expect at all?!?!?

on our HM cruise - a guy proposed before the show one night. the cruise director said he had randomly drawn a cabin # to win a ship on a stick (the highly coveted trophy....of which we both won on our HM....but i digress!) so he calls the number and the girl gets all excited that they have won. so they go up there and the ring was tied around the ship on a stick with a ribbon and they guy takes it from CD, says what is this....she realizes what's going on and he dropped to one knee.

i know you said you didn't want public, but i'm sure you could probably arrange to "win" a ship on a stick that just happens to have a diamond on it also! then you could have the trophy as a reminder always of your engagement cruise!!

i also agree to do it early on so you can celebrate for the remainder of the trip.

CONGRATS!!

I agree.....what you do should reflect who you are.

I like the karaoke idea!! Also....the piano bar would be great! It should be pretty easy to chat with the Paino Person and arrange a particular song. This is a bit public but still a much smaller venue than a show lounge or main dining room. Additionally, the crowd in the piano bar is usually quite fun and would probably really get into it!

I also think doing it early in the cruise would be great.....a nice way to celebrate the rest of the week and also your nerves will be subdued and you can relax and enjoy the cruise...

Shame on anyone for suggesting she would not say yes!! LOL!!

I think it is so romantic to do it on ship! (pop the question that is) I still like the old lets toast and then have the waiter slip the ring in the bottom of her glass so when she tips it back, bamm! The ring and then you propose on one knee of course!

I think it to be so romantic! I hope when DBF finally asks me (dating and living together 2 yrs.) he does it while we are cruising since he knows it is where I love to spend most of my time!

Good luck! I hope after all this she says yes atleast!!??
