Driving time in Maui

We will be driving from Lahaina to Iao Valley taking HI-30. Mapquests estimated time is 45 minutes, but how is the traffic? We need to be back in Lahaina at 5pm for the OLL and want to make sure we alot enough driving time.

Traffic in late afternoon will be primarily headed from Lahaina to Wailuku/Kahului/Iao Valley so you trying to be back in Lahaina before 5 PM for OLL shouldn't be a problem (unless there's an accident or some other random event). I would allot about 1 hour or so to give yourself some leeway.
