Sun Mini Suite/AE

Has anyone stayed in or have information about the Sun mini suite/AE on the Pool deck. The ship deck plan looks as though the AE's have a couple of different floor plans. Is one preferred over the other?

We had cabin 1004 on the Sun. We really liked the location. I think the only ones that may be a different layout are the forward facing one.

Tobintemp, what else did you like besides the location?

the layout in the brochure looks irregular in shape rather than rectangular making the room narrow in spots.

1201 is an aft cabin; that would be nice.

How about 1008 and 1009?

Planning on booking the 2/25/07 cruise considering either AE or BA.

Hi there popcorn. We are getting on the Sun on Saturday for our cruise to Alaska. We are staying in Minisuite 1209. I will let you know when i get back what ther layout is and what we think of the room.

All the AE's are rectangular in shape. You can pretty much ignore the funny looking shapes on the deck plan.

 

The forward AE's are slightly larger with larger balconies than those on the sides.

If you look at a photo of the front of the ship you can see that it's designed to deflect the wind away from the balconies are much as possible and at the same time make the ship as aero-dynamic as possible.

 

You will feel a breeze as you open the balcony but you can sit there in complete comfort. My sister had no problems reading a book out there and we had no problems sipping a cocktail out there as the ship was departing the ports.
