threeofus Posted August 26, 2006 #26 Share Posted August 26, 2006 We took a taxi to the beach next to the Atlantis and we just did our own tour. We walked up from the beach and walked all through the Atlantis We walked right into the under ground Aquarium. Is there another that is bigger because we did not know you had to pay and nobody said anything. We did see signs that you needed wrist bands for the pools but not until my DD and DS was allready in them. The cab was $4 each. You may be able to walk into the pool...but you won't be able to use the slides. We stayed there twice and the person at the top of the slides not only tells you when it is safe to go...but also checks for wristbands and bracelets that might damage the slide or catch on the way down. If you are a guest at Atlantis you welcome this...you paid ALOT of money to stay there and don't want the water features overcrowded with day passes. This is VERY true- when we decided to forgo the public beach access and attempt to return to the main road via Atlantis we knew we were probably going to be caught. Everyone walking around had a bracelet visible and security is searching for those that are not. Because Atlantis has so many public places (casino, the dig, tours, etc...) it would be easy for people to stray from those areas and take advantage of the rest. My DH and I were eventually "caught" by security- but we were not attempting to use the facility other than as a means to exit. Although we did get to take the long way around and the property is beautiful- I did not see any of the water slides but I would imagine from what I did see it is well worth booking a room at the Comfort Inn to use the entire property. SLCBoys Posted August 26, 2006 #28 Share Posted August 26, 2006 My suggestion...take a water taxi, if I remember it was $3-4 per person each way, as soon as you get off the ship and the dock, go right to the end of where all the other small boats are tied up, right in front of the big shopping tent. The walk after you get off the water taxi from dock to Atlantis wasn't that far, there was alot of construction and shops...never felt it was unsafe, there were so many people, mostly from all the ships in port doing the same thing.
