sepakcruiser Posted August 24, 2006 #1 Share Posted August 24, 2006 Are there other cruise lines that have a "freestyle" concept? Don't get me wrong, I love NCL but I am curious if there are others out there like what NCL offers? Thanks! Karen
hotspur Posted August 24, 2006 #2 Share Posted August 24, 2006 Dining on Oceania is similar to NCL's freestyle, but the ships are smaller and have fewer dining venues to choose from. Prices are at least twice NCL's. Princess gives a choice of "traditional" dining or "anytime" dining, but I believe they still have restrictive dress codes a la HAL and Celebrity. calmac Posted August 24, 2006 #4 Share Posted August 24, 2006 Star Cruises (NCL's parent company) also have freestyle dining. They currently cruise out of Singapore, Hong Kong and Mumbai (our winter) and Malta (our summer).

It's basically a hybrid of Freestyle Dining and Traditional Dining. You can either chose the traditional route where you eat everynight in the same place at the same table with the same waiter, or you can chose to dine when and where you like, like Freestyle.
