A new (honest) sign and sail card question.

Does anyone know if you put your American Express Card as your sign and sail card deposit for your cruise, if that would also cover using your S & S Card to get cash for credits at the casino ??

Or do you have to orignally leave a cash deposit to do that ? yes, i know, why not use the cash then... I am bringing not alot of cash, want to use all my purchases on the sign and sail card via my American Express Card.

We always use a credit card for the sail and sign card. Just remember it is a WHOLE lot easier to go over your budget. Also, they use the sail and sign card to give you money in the casino. The previous poster is correct that there is a 3% charge to get that cash.

Basically when you use a credit card to back your sail and sign............the only limit is the limit imposed by your credit card company.

So the casino charges 3% but is your CC going to charge another 3% for a cash transaction?

No. The charge that gets posted to your credit card is a single charge that shows up as "Victory Sign & Sail - Miami, FL" (in my case) and the category simply said "Entertainment".

They will have to see your card again at check-in, even though you used it to pay for the cruise. Just let them swipe it and get the info (you will let them know who can use it) and have at it on the ship.

As others have noted, you may want to bring your own cash to the casino to save the 3%.

If you have cash left over at the end and want to use it to pay for charges, you can.

Ditto above. AmEx is no problem. Also prev posters are correct that the 3% charge in the casino does not show up as cash advance. I prefer to use cash, but the convenience and not having to carry cash and/or travelers checks has outweighed the 3% charge the past couple of cruises.

Enjoy!
