needmorefunds007 Posted July 8, 2004 #1 Share Posted July 8, 2004 Hi everyone, I'm kinda new here and I needed some insight in regards to my first cruise. I haven't confirmed it yet, and will only do so after hearing the responses in this thread. We are a group of 3-4 males, ages 19-25, and were wondering what kind of crowd we can expect on board. Considering its the end of summer, can we expect to have many people our age on board? What is the usual age group on these kinds of cruises? And besides getting a chance to meet people our age, are we guaranteed a good time especially since this would be our first time? NinaCO Posted July 8, 2004 #2 Share Posted July 8, 2004 I doubt anyone could guarantee you a good time, especially not knowing what you think constitutes one. :D On every cruise I've been on there have been considerably more single women than men. In the dining room, Carnival usually puts singles together at large tables. And, there is a single's gathering around 10:00 the first night. If by the end of summer, you mean after school is in session, then there will probably be more fellow passengers who are older than you. During the summer, when students haven't gone back to college, there will tend to be more people in your age group. The average Carnival cruiser is in their 40's. On a typical cruise, 40 percent are ages 35-55; 30 percent under 35 (including children); and 30 percent over 55. FYI, Carnival requires guests under 21 years old to be accompanied by a parent or guardian who is at least 25. You have to be 21 or older to purchase alcohol on board.
