How far in advance do you start packing?

I'm leaving TOMORROW on a 4-night Monarch of the Seas cruise...and haven't packed yet, at 10:30 pm. ;)

I do have the morning to pack, and it's a short local cruise, so I'm not worried. If I were flying somewhere I'd be more prepared. As it is, I have some stuff put aside, know my pack lists from heart...no problem. :D

Wanna know what I am going to wear on my Adventure of the Seas cruise in March 2008? I've written out the list.

But my 4-legged child, a nearly 13 year old black lab/doberman mix who sleeps in the bed w/ DW and myself, gets all bummed out when he sees suitcases. So even when the actual clothing and gear stacks begin on the bed in the guest room, the suitcases don't come down until relatively late to avoid upsetting the old fella. He's cared for in our home, w/ 3 daily visits (he could get by on 2, but we do three for the extra interaction, his pet sitters love him), but he misses us and doesn't sleep as well when we aren't here (we can tell by how well he sleeps, probably from exhaustion, when we get home compared to usual).
