hcs81m Posted July 9, 2004 #1 Share Posted July 9, 2004 We booked the Golden Princess Sept 5th out of San Juan. I went on Priceline and booked the Caribe Hilton for $67.00 for the day before and day after the cruise. Does anyone know anything about this hotel? (Location, distance to ship,is this a good value?,safety etc.) Also has anyone cruised the southern carribean in early September? What is the weather like? Thanks in advance for you help. :D
Almost Boricua2 Posted July 9, 2004 #2 Share Posted July 9, 2004 You got a great deal. The Hilton is about 5 minutes from the dock, but you have to take a taxi. It is a nice hotel with many places to eat and a nice beach. They are building the Hilton Condo's right now, so it may be noisy. The downside of the Hilton is that you have to taxi to go to either Old San Juan or Condado. But, they are short $7 trips.

PeabodyNVL Posted July 9, 2004 #4 Share Posted July 9, 2004 We stayed at the Caribe Hilton in May. The hotel was fine. They are working on construction on the property. For the price, I don't think you can beat it. We ate dinner there Saturday night. There was a fajita buffet, but you could also order off the regular menu. Breakfast was also good. We didn't have a good view, but we got it for a low price through Priceline and we were only there one night, so it didn't matter to us.
005flyer Posted July 9, 2004 #5 Share Posted July 9, 2004 Great price for that location - even if the hotel was crap, (which it isn't) that price would make it worth it.
jerryr Posted July 9, 2004 #6 Share Posted July 9, 2004 The "tower" part of the hotel is much older and less desirable but still worth what you are paying. Be prepared to "get what you pay for" though if they assign you to the older part of the facility.
