Scuba Laura Posted October 8, 2006 #26 Share Posted October 8, 2006 CruiseGal - at Sapphire we snorkel right off the beach. There is a very shallow reef with lots of life living there. You can also walk to the west side of the beach and snorkel there. Between the two is a large patch of turtle grass. Another beach we visit often is Lindbergs, also known as Emerald Beach. Snorkeling there is not the best, but the sand is clean, the bars are awesome and usually a great group of people. I love St. John, so much so I got married on Hawksnest Beach. Living on St. Thomas it's nice to get off one rock and go to another. Getting there via ferry is easy and is done everyday by cruiseship passengers. The taxi's are plentiful (almost TOO), but they are used to this and realize your time constraints. You know, you're coming to an island paradise with beautiful beaches. Your experience here is what YOU make it. Don't stress, just find your stretch of sand, kick off those sneakers, wiggle your toes in the warm white sand, then let the salt water do it's magic to your soul. I wish I could meet each and everyone of you, but, I have to go to the office every day - hahahahaha....my office is the ocean, and my friends are the fishes and creatures living there.
