Chilly Jan. weather from San Diego to PV??

We're typically Caribbean winter cruisers, but our beloved Celebrity's shortage of 7 day itineraries in January is leading us towards a HAL itinerary from San Diego to Mexico. We've heard this itinerary can be a little chilly though? Will we be disappointed if we're looking for pool-worthy sea days?

We're typically Caribbean winter cruisers, but our beloved Celebrity's shortage of 7 day itineraries in January is leading us towards a HAL itinerary from San Diego to Mexico. We've heard this itinerary can be a little chilly though? Will we be disappointed if we're looking for pool-worthy sea days?

 

We did the Vision 7 night run from San Diego to the Mexican Riviera at Christmas 2001. You can bet your bippy it was chilly the first and last two days. We had 5 days of relative warmth in the middle of the trip but leaving San Diego it was cool that night and the next day and night. It didn't warm up until we hit Cabo, the first stop. Same thing coming home. Bring layers.

 

Does the Hal ship have a domed pool like most new ships?

1st day is cool. and the last sea day coming home is cool.

we cruised in Jan from LA to mexico,,

but at least in between the weather was great,, not too humid ,, or hot ..

it was a great time of year to go there in my opinion

and then you can come back all tan, while everyone else is cold in Ca..

We did this itinerary a couple of years ago and while we had a nice sail-away, it was still chilly on the ship the first and the last days at sea. We're from the Central Valley (CA) and it was incredibly humid to us, but we have pretty low humidity here.If you're used to the Caribbean, you should be fine.
