charmary Posted September 7, 2006 #1 Share Posted September 7, 2006 I have tried the search engine on this board it has just brought back the names of the ports, to locate tour guides for the following ports. Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Gdansk Poland, Helsinki, Tallinn Estonia, and Stockholm Sweden. If anyone has any recommendatons and how to reach them I would appreciate the help. atlanta99 Posted September 8, 2006 #2 Share Posted September 8, 2006 For Gdansk, I would highly recommend contacting Donna at toursinpoland.com. She and her husband run a seemingly efficient tour operation, with a variety of customizable itineraries available depending on your time in port. gratefulguy Posted September 9, 2006 #3 Share Posted September 9, 2006 Try looking at the roll calls for ships that went to those ports earlier this year! This would include most of the cruise lines, since this is a popular summer destination. I think you will find, however, that most people tour these cities on their own (or perhaps with the ships' tours), because public transportation is so good in most, or the distances so short (Tallinn). Reading a few good guide books first will show you which cities are easiest. Many posters have said the walking tours outlined in Rick Steves' books work for cruisers, too. If mobility is a factor for you, most books discuss which places are equipped to help, and there is a forum here where you could post detailed questions later.
