cruiseescape Posted September 7, 2006 #1 Share Posted September 7, 2006 We are sailing on the Legend on Sept 25th it will be our 1st year anniversary and we are also sailing with another couple who will be celebrating their honeymoon. Is it rude to tell them we want to go to dinner on our anniversary by ourselves???? (It would be the last night of the cruise) Thanks!!!
cruise-a-lot Posted September 7, 2006 #2 Share Posted September 7, 2006 We are going on our 25th anniversary this year and we are breaking off for a night alone at the Supper Club. It's not rude at all, I would recommend telling the other couple as soon as possible that you two want to be alone that night and then offer the same to them as a courtesy if they would like. True friends would never see this as rude and believe me it gets a lot more comfortable after 25 years. I think it's nice that you care if it's rude, too often people don't these days. Enjoy your cruise and being alone as often as possible!!! Cruise-a-Lot

CruzVinnieCruz Posted September 7, 2006 #4 Share Posted September 7, 2006 There's nothing wrong with celebrating any anniversary the way that you want too especially a silver anniversary. Just tell the other couple you made reservations ahead of time and if they don't want to dine alone there's always the buffet. Any couple that makes twenty five years of marriage must of stopped worrying about what other people think a long time ago. Congrats and hoping to many more in the future... Doesn't hurt to tell them now upfront that you 2 are spending a nice quiet evening together at supper club on the last day to celebrate your anniversary. cruise-a-lot Posted September 8, 2006 #6 Share Posted September 8, 2006 Derk, Breaking Off means to break off from dining with others when we go to the Supper Club. Now Breaking Up or Breaking IT Off would be awful:) Cruise-a-Lot
Payd Posted September 8, 2006 #7 Share Posted September 8, 2006 Go ahead and tell them you have a special night planned for just the two of you. If they are good friends they won't mind a bit - they will encourage you to do it and possibly plan a night of their own too!~:) Payd
Maxax Posted September 8, 2006 #8 Share Posted September 8, 2006 Dinner at The Supper Club or whatever alone for an anniversery...sounds perfectly normal and acceptable to me! They might also appreciate a dinner alone together as well.
