Car Rental - 8 ships in port???

We will be in Cayman on Jan 17/07. There are 8 ships in that day:eek: Would it be crazy to consider renting a car? We have a private sting ray city charter and would like to stop at the turtle farm afterwards. We were quoted $30pp for transportation from port to charter, pick up at charter, to turtle farm and back to port. We can rent a car for just over half that. I just want to know how bad the traffic will likely be. I know there will be some but what time would we have to head back into Georgetown to make it back to tender for 4pm (ship leaves at 5pm)?

Thanks for any info,

Sara

I have been there when there were many cruise ships there maybe 5. Traffic wasnt that bad I thought, we looked into renting a jeep but decided not to because we were only going to the beach and then shopping across the street from the cruise terminal. I wouldnt think traffic would be an issue for you.
