LHC Posted September 16, 2006 #1 Share Posted September 16, 2006 I emailed larry limo's for service from hotel in Plantation to the Port and for 42. dollars (that included the tip) can get it from Larry. DD and I can pay for it in advance and know that someone will get us at 10:30 am for delivery to the port on Saturday am. I was thrilled. I had been given a $55. quote from a shuttle service at the top of the cruise critic page. The hotel we are staying at does not have shuttle and I do not like to leave things until the last minute ( for example call a cab and wait). Knowing my daughter and myself the man will earn his tip hauling our luggage.:p Thanks Now any suggestions on place to eat beside the Rustic Inn, which we planned to use from me reading an earlier post. We will be in town from Wed. late until Saturday and will be going to a hockey game on Thursday night (she is so excited as she loves hockey). I like local authentic touch the people kind of places but she is a little more upscale than I. Linda
Bequia Posted September 16, 2006 #2 Share Posted September 16, 2006 Linda, Tropical Acres, family owned since 1949, great steaks. Just down the road from the Rustic Inn. http://www.eatattropicalacres.com/about.html J. Alexanders, too good to be a chain.....located in Plantation on Broward Blvd. http://www.eatattropicalacres.com/about.html Bahama Breeze, will get you in the cruise mode. Located on the Saw Grass Mills perimeter road next to BankAtlantic Center (your hockey game). http://www.bahamabreeze.com/ Grande Luxe Cafe, first in the country, Cheesecake Factory is testing the concept. I've been dying to try this place. It's in the Sawgrass Mills as well. http://www.grandluxcafe.com/ Then there's the usual chain restaurants in Plantation, Outback, Smokey Bones Barbeque, Olive Garden, Red Lobster, Macaroni Grill, Carrabas, Bone Fish Grill....too many to choose from. Enjoy.
LHC Posted September 18, 2006 Author #3 Share Posted September 18, 2006 B. I have printed out your info and the menus along with their locations and plan on setting up some reservations for while we are in FLL. You are the best, these menus look yummy.
