NCL Dawn, where to park in NYC?

Hi all,

We are considering going on the Dawn over x-mas vacation. I noticed that daily parking at the port was 24$. Is there a less expensive place to park, or is this the only logical option?

Are we better off parking at the airport and taking a taxi? Would this save us money?

The Taxi will cost at least as half the price of parking plus add a lot of time and hassle to your trip to and from the ship.
