snorkeling on own-love beach in nassau

Ive been snorkeling on my own several times and feel fine going without a guide...plus the BF is scared to go after the steve Irwin thing. but ive never been to the bahamas. All the guides I've read say love beach in Nassau has great snorkeling right off the beach. Im thinking of taking my own equipment and just wondered if anyone has any experience at love beach and could recomend it?

Used the seach engine to find Love Beach Nassau and it's 12 miles west of downtown and considered a good place to snorkel. I've never been there but any beach with clear water is good.

I was at love beach many years ago (like 15 years) and it was not a very nice beach although I never snorkeled there. Who knows, maybe things have changed.

Well, I hope to be there in Nov. so maybe I'll get a chance to snorkel and update you on current conditions :)
