Courtyard Marriott Fort Lauderdale East

Hi, any thoughts would be appreciated. I have 3 rooms booked at the Holiday Inn Express-on 17th st. for Dec. 16. @ $148 each. I see this Marriott on North Federal Hwy will be less than $81.oo and w/friends and family rate about 1/2 that price. My question is, does any one know anything about this hotel or the area its in? Should I just say "oh its vacation" and stay by the port ? I'm NOT paying for all 3 rooms so thats a plus ! and I do like the idea that we can go out and wander if we stay at the Holiday Inn. Thanks in advance !

Because this Marriott is on NORTH federal hwy. Its too far away from everything. There is a courtyard by Marriott In Dania Bch that is closer.
