Legend Cruise to Nowhere Oct 19th

Hi,

 

Does anyone have information about this cruise out of NY ..... I am interested if they provide the same service and musical entertainment as 7 day cruises.

We are looking to dance. Also do they cover the pool area.

My dh and I will be on that cruise and from what I heard they have a formal night and the shows, casino, music, all of it. Only in a much shorter amount of time. I also heard that one of the pools has a retractable glass dome over it. I'm sure there will be posts from people who have taken the CTN.

 

I know it's very short but I don't have time to take a longer cruise right now. I still am going to have a great time.

Look at the price first. I was going to take my son for his birthday, on Oct 19 and show him the ship, we are going on the Legend over New Years. The price knocked my over. I took my 3 kids on the Celebration for less and that and it was a longer cruise.

I've heard from friends that have taken CTN that they feel they're a huge rip-off and are nothing put a party cruise. There's nothing great about CTN, everyone's drunk by the time the ship sails and half the ship stays up all night with some sleeping on the lido deck for a couple hours.

I went on a CTN a few years ago and it wasn't a party boat at all. I didn't see any drunks or people sleeping on decks because of being hungover. I had a great time but the only bad thing was it was too short.

Yes, many years ago, these CTN where just that. I large party. The criuse lines did not even provide a sit down dinner. It was a buffet and usualy just overnight.

 

Things have changed since then ...... I think that you will always find a group of guests that drink too much and behave poorly. I have had 20 or so cruises and find for the most part people are very civil.

 

We got a very good price and were alrady upgraded to an outside.

I know it is very expensive compared to a longer cruise but I was looking into going to Cape May, NJ for the weekend and between an upscale B&B, food, things to do and the gas it costs to get down there, we would have spent the same amount. So I chose the CTN. I never went on Carnival before and this is a good way to see if I like it.

There was one formal night, we did have lobster, we had two production shows, and it was WAY too short.

 

Tips were included in the fare, we had to carry our luggage on and off the boat, we never saw the cruise director, and it was WAY too short.

 

We had great weather, once you were out in the gulf stream, it was warmer that I would have expected, and did I mention that it was WAY too short?

After speaking to Carnival about this trip, from their perspective, it is designed as an intro cruise for those that have never cruised before. Fo us seasoned cruisers, it is too short and probably too expensive.

 

But for someone new to cruising, I could see the appeal.

 

I actually thought about it but have been waiting for the price to drop. Based on what my PVP said, it is not too likely. They always sell out. But that could have just been sales talk for book it now!

 

I'm watching....The price on Balconies and OV have gone up since the begining of the month.

I have taken two ctn. back when it was cheaper and more affordable. Prices today -- I can go somewhere for that amount.

 

Its just a like a 7 day cruise but all sqeezed into one. The 2 days shows on the 7 day will run one on first night and the other on 2nd night.

Stores will be opened so you can buy smokes and alcohol.. same as the duty free prices.

 

I found the cruise to be more bumpy then the other cruises... and more colder.

 

Casino will be opened. Pools opened but I cant recall anyone ever using them--even with the retractable ceiling.

Get tot he port early-- you might be on by 2pm..amd have the rest of the day to enjoy the ship. You still need to be out of the cabin by 8am. Breakfast is served til then. (May I suggest the dining room for breakfast this morning as most of those cruisers will be in the buffet)
