gomersimpson Posted September 30, 2006 #1 Share Posted September 30, 2006 Last March our family had a full day to spend in Florida before our cruise, and we decided that surfing lessons would be worth a try. We went through Florida Surf School (http://www.FloridaSurfLessons.com.). They offer lessons on most spots from Port Canaveral to Fort Lauderdale. Our lesson was at Jupiter Park near Palm Beach, and we had a great time. The waves were impressive but not overpowering, and the beach was fairly shallow and sandy. It was also nice to find that our instructor was serious about helping us learn, very patient, and a lifeguard with EMT training. A two hour lesson didn't turn us into Laird Hamiltons, but it was one of the highlights of our cruise week, and it pretty much guarantees a good night of sleep before the cruise. Just a thought if you have multiple age levels and genders to please.
