Returned From Granduer 9/24-29

I won't bore you with the details of embarkation which was smooth as could be.

However, I will reiterate that 18's can go to the disco/casino but are not of legal drinking age on RC. The card offered my 18 yo old daughter was originally punched with two holes which means she is not eligible for either. On review they realized she could enter the disco/casino at 18.

If not for this we would have embarked a bit quicker. I wanted her to have the opportunity of the experience so we waited for the corrected card with one punch.

Our cabin 2516 oceanview was adequate for our needs and Hank, our steward, was not only personable but happy to spend the time forming animals for us and attending to our needs.

Room service was provided for breakfast on two mornings and dinner the last evening for my daughter. This was a conferance at sea for us and I enjoyed cocktails at the Crown Viking on two nights as well as seminars on two sea days.

The ship will benefit from the new bedding RC will provide to rival the Freedom in a few months time. Regardless of the dated bedding we were comfortable in our cabin. As an agent we are given the lesser accomodations but did not suffer in any way.

The food and dining experience was very good overall. The lunch menu has less variety (same menu each day with a special added) but the buffet was every bit as tasty with even more to choose from. At dinner the food was well presented and excellent as was the service.

While the Granduer is not as fabulous as the newer ships she is well loved by her staff and provided a great respite for our 75 or so agents from one of the largest sellers of RCI on the east coast.

I hope many of you take advantage of the opportunity to sail her as we did. I believe you will find this an enjoyable vacation that is not only convenient but affordable, worth every penny.

Bermuda is one of the best vacations available in my opinion. Having never docked at Kings Wharf I was happy to do so as this was my fourth Bermuda cruise. Snorkel Park was wonderful, our weather perfect. Take advantage of this easy walk from the ship. The fish are amazing and nothing compares to seeing them from a foot or two away. Walk right out from the beach and there they are. How can you beat that? The beach is free so bring your own gear and avoid the $15 rental fee.

While I am happy to be back home I look forward to many more sea days. Ask any questions you may have and I will gladly respond.

Bon Voyage,

Rita

Glad to see a good review. I am seriously considering this cruise for next Sept. I have an 11 year old who also loves to cruise. We just got back from the Bahamas. Cruised on the Soverign and she loved the kids' program.
