If you've had Liberty cabin 2462, help with my question please

I just need a little help on the Liberty cabin we chose for our Feb. cruise. We chose cabin 2462, with the ov windows. L-shaped cabin, I believe. Anyway, my question is, for whoever has had this cabin before, is the bed large enough to sleep 2 comfortably? Thanks in advance:)

Hi bubbles,

I have the same cabin for next Dec. according to my PVP he said there is a twin bed and a sofa bed, so I guess the single bed will not hold 2 people comfortably.

I once saw on the web photo pages a photo of this cabin and it showed 2 lowers, but was told no it is one twin & one sofa bed.

I stayed in 2462 in February 06 and it had 2 twin beds that can be pushed together into a queen size bed. There is a question whether it has been refigured but I also know 2465 had 2 twins as of late July in the Med. i dont think they have had time to reconfigure since the transatlantic move in early November.

I have to agree with Coach- Even the people who work at Carnival dont know. Most people dont know that these are coveted cabins. They see 1A's advertised as one lower bed and an upper bed and think that is the way they all are.

Here is a photo of one of those great cabins-- the other was the same way.

Now I dont know if these cabins were reconfigured. If a bed broke somewhere else on the ship I would think that the bed could be taken out of this cabin and replaced with a convertible sofa.

I saw these cabins last week on the Liberty.(2465) boy are they great. The gal that was in this one let me in to look at it. Her bed was made up for a queen or king size bed(I guess they put the 2 beds together) and I just loved the 2 hugh windows.LIGHT....I am glad we got these 2 cabins for our Dec. cruise on the Freedom.

The cabin I had on the Liberty was great too..It was a 1A cat. on deck 6.. cabin 6393...hugh because when you opened the cabin door you did not see the beds they were behind the bathroom area, which in turn made the room even look larger.Plenty of dancing room:D When you opened the cabin door usually you hit the closets, not in this room, there was a hugh space behind the door(where you could fit a cot) Loved that cabin too, only wished it had a window:( By the way, the bunkbed was up in the ceiling that could be pulled down if needed.

Have a great holiday coachj & serene56

and thanks for the other information about the cabin 2465.

:) I was on the Caribbean Princess and it was beautiful. Everything was perfect including the lobsterfest dining.

We had cabins E414 & E418 on the Emerald deck. These cabins only have a slight view of the leader boat. The rest of the window view is perfectly clear..no blocking of boat...I picked these 2 cabins because I had them on the Grand Princess in 2000 and was surprised to see that I had complete ocean view(except for the tip of the leader boat) It is the smallest life boat....

Plan to do another Princess sometime in 2007, if I can get these rooms.

Enjoy your cruise,

Marilyn:)

Both of these coveted 1A cabins are available for our upcoming group on the CArnival Liberty for August 2007.

these cabins cost the same as an inside cabin BUT you cant get cabin credit with the group rates. Ratz.. woulda been nice eh

What do you mean about cabin credit?

I already told my agent if he finds a good rate for any of those ships(ones with that kind of cabin) that leave from Ft.Lauderdale or Miami hold one of those rooms and let me know...

How many Carnival cruises did you go on? I am a platinum member with 14 already taken and 2 more already paid for and booked...wow...16..cannot believe it was that much. Have to go back on Princess and RCCL to catch up.LOL

Right now here in South Fl. is it pouring and supposed to get just a bit cooler tomorrow.

Hope you had a great Xmas,

Marilyn

MArilyn- most cruise critic groups cruises will get people a 100. cabin credit. I have a group heading out in AUgust. (my son is getting married onboard the Liberty and I thought this cabin to be perfect for them to give them space at a cheap rate.)

But like I said-- they wont get the 100. credit. 1A is not in the group space....sigh

To date I have done 9 cruises. Heading out on my first Princess come February-on the caribbean princess in C753. I wanted to cruise during Valentines week but both those coveted balconies were gone so I had to go the next week.

I tried ROyal and its just not for me. Too bored (if that is really possible on a cruise) so far prefer carnival for better choices of nightlife

My group from this year's Liberty are trying to set up a REUNION cruise for next Dec.8th. One of the gals mom is a T/A and had mentioned to one of our gang that the 1A's do not apply. He booked separately but will still be with the group. She had to have 8 cabins in order to get the 100.00 credit. I did that back in the early 2000's and got 8 cabins for my group a free cruise for one and onboard credit for all. That was on the Immagination. That one was easy to do, I had an office group going.

This time I took the 2 1A cabins that are 220sq feet with the window and 1- 6B..outside....that is for Dec. cruise.

This coming cruise in April we are on the Lido deck at a 4A rate. We also have 3 cabins on this one too.

A wedding cruise is nice.. I had one of my daughter's wedding on the Discovery 1 day cruise 13yrs ago. Wanted to do a cruise for her but was too expensive for me to do(am a widow) by myself. So I apt for the 1dayer and had 40 friends and close relatives attend and stay for the entire 1 day cruise. I turned out just great.Ceremony was done on top deck before sailing by Justice of the Peace..(who was also invited to sail with us) Had special diningroom decorated for our meals and a cabin where we all could change.

The agent says-- that since I set up the group space carnival will only allow singles to book the group rate for 1As and if I had a single person then the cabin will be in with the group-

Woulda been an awesome room for the wedding couple. CHeap/big/nicer then an inside...but they dont care where the cabin is.

It really does not matter where the married couple sleep, as long as it is together on the cruise.

To me and probably you I would go for the bigger cabin with the window if possible at the cheaper price. But then again, if that were not available I would take an outside window cabin. There was a time when it did not matter if I had an inside or outside, but as I got older I feel very closed i in the inside cabin, and even tho I don't stay in the cabin that much I still want some light. So I won't spend the extra$$$in the casino, instead spend it on the room.LOL

Speaking of casino's, what I lost on the Liberty I could have had a balcony cabin.:( and it is Carnival's fault. Since they are using the new method not having to go to the cashier for $$$ instead put your sail and sign card in slot machine....Well, then again, that got me into trouble. just a little more then maybe I will hit the jackpot, and before I knew it wham my sign and sail card was out of control.

Have a great New Year,

Marilyn

What we learned last cruise is to put a certain amount on the card---for the whole week to use in the casino. We set the card up at the cage and that was what we spent. We cashed that in at the end of the week since it is seperate from the sign and sail card.

Now by doing it the way you did--- did you pay 3% charge each time?

Yes, I got the 3% charge but it only came out to about a total of 10.00 total I only put around 300.00 on the card....I had onboard credit on my card of 345.00 that carnival put on before I went on the cruise.(my cruise rate dropped from $947.00 to 602.00 for a single 1A rate.(I had cabin 6393)on Liberty..Great big room. Had single lower and single upper(which was in ceiling)...

But I should not complain, afterall there were times when I cruised and won up to 2000.00.(on RCCL)

Even tho it cost me around 10.00 fee, I did get 40.00 back from Ocean Player Club. for hitting 1000 pts.(10.00 each time, hit it 4 times)

Heck, I did have fun..LOL

I am trying to book the 1A with Freedom - the new ship and was told that it is a twin bed and soft bed in the room and cannot be converted into queen. I am sure those PVP never went on the ship and just read information from their computer. When I said I've seen some other pics on the internet where people describe about the 1A on the Conquest or Valour, she said they are different ship than the Freedom, their's 1A may be convertible not not the 1A in Freedom. Can somebody help?

The Glory is the same class as the Freedom will be. The Glory does not have the twin beds on the floor in those 1A cabins.

Conquest and Liberty are also the same class ships and although the layout is the same--- the cabins are different on the ships.

You will have to wait til someone sails those cabins and report back.
