Asking For An Upgrade

Has anyone asked for an upgrade at check-in? How did this work for you? Our cruise is not full yet and some web sites are showing free category upgrades available.

Most of the time i cruise the wrong time of the year to ask. I have never been on a Carnival ship that wasn't sold out. also with your luggage checked before you go to check in it would be going to the wrong room. your cabin stewart also has a list with your name on it. I think a lot of paper work is done 48 hrs before we even get to the ship.

there are NO upgarde at the time of check in. so dont even think of asking. dont believe it when your travel agent says there will be upgrades at checkin.

If the ship isn't sold out when you arrive at the pier, you can ask for an upgrade , but it won't be free! You will pay the difference at the regular upgrade price.

if you are seeing a free upgrade for a category you are currently booked in, call your TA or PVP and request it. i spotted carnival's website offereing free upgrades from 1a to 4e, called TA and got it.
