Racktacular Posted October 17, 2006 #1 Share Posted October 17, 2006 Ok, we are leaving on the Carnival Miracle and going to: Belize, Costa Maya, Cozumel and Grand Cayman. We have never been diving before and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to a reputable place to teach us the basics and then go on a basic dive afterwards. Obviously we have no equipment and would need to rent everything. We already have an excursion at Belize so we wouldn't be able to do the Scuba there. Does anyone have any recommendations for us? best to do it with the cruise? Independant? Is one of the islands better for this type of thing? TIA to all the experts that can help out some Scuba diving newbies! Rack
walleye Posted October 18, 2006 #2 Share Posted October 18, 2006 If you want to do it in Cozumel, my vote would be contact Cristina Roman. We have done about 300 dives in Cozumel. 290 with her and I regret the other 10. She is set up for just what you want. A big comfortable boat with plenty of room to work on your gear and lesson on the way to the reef. Cristina and Luis are wonderful people to work with and they have all the gear you will need. We let her train both our kids too. www.divewithcristina.com
KaC-Cruiser Posted October 22, 2006 #3 Share Posted October 22, 2006 Scuba with Alison is also extremely reliable, has a very nice comfortable boat, and is great with taking care of people. She's been in Coz since '92 and is a certified instructor with both NAUI & PADI .... check out her website ..... http://www.scubawithalison.com/index.html On top of all that, she's a bunch of fun to dive with!!
