Beach Bound Posted October 18, 2006 #1 Share Posted October 18, 2006 I Am trying to see about how long the whole tender process will take. I called Carnival and was told it's very quick. 10 mins. I am trying to book an independent snorkel tour and the operator seems to think it could be up to two hours and wants me to choose an exact time with him. I wanted to book it an hour after dock time.:) I want the earliest time possible so I can do an other activity we have planned. How long did it take you? The actual tendering time is probably about 10 minutes but how long it takes to get off the ship is a completely different matter. We were blessed to dock in Cozumel on the Miracle last Wednesday. We docked at Punta Langosta (directly across from Carlos N Charlies). If you are interested in an independent snorkel tour and don't want to worry about time...I would pay $35.00 a person and take the Fury Catamaran from Paradise Beach. It leaves at 12:30pm and returns at 2:30pm. The taxi cost is $14.00 per taxi (up to 4 people) one way. This price includes all equipment.
Socref124 Posted October 18, 2006 #3 Share Posted October 18, 2006 I was on The Carnival Triumph in May and we did not have to tender. I think we were the first ship after Hurricane Wilma that didn't have to tender in Cozumel. I agree with the Fury Catamaran tour. We booked this excursion through Carnival and had a great time. Beach Bound Posted October 18, 2006 Author #4 Share Posted October 18, 2006 Thanks for your quick replies. Wow you got to dock? Is there anyway to find out in advance? I called Carnaval and they said we always tender there. I tried to tell her sometims they dock. Anyway how long does it take for the whole process?? You know that the Paradise Beach snorkel was my first option. Because that is also what I want to do is go after snorkeling but there are black out days in December and one is on our arrival. We may be able to get dropped off there. This one guy insists on me giving him a arrival time.
hstrybuf Posted October 18, 2006 #5 Share Posted October 18, 2006 When are you cruising on the Miracle? We leave in less than two weeks and we believe that we will get to dock as well. We are the first of only two ship scheduled to be in port that day. I used cruisecal to look at all the ports and the ships that will be with us. http://www.cruisecal.com/dnn3/
DqALEX Posted October 18, 2006 #6 Share Posted October 18, 2006 I like to dock so much better than tender. it can take a while to get off a ship by tender as well as getting back on. My next cruise on the legend is all dock.

LHP Posted October 19, 2006 #8 Share Posted October 19, 2006 When we got on the Miracle, they handed us a letter that showed all our ports and all (except Costa Maya) had "tender" marked beside it. It wasn't until the night before we went to Cozumel that we found out we were going to dock at Punta Langosta (across from CarlosN Charlies). I would not count on docking, since it can be a hit or miss thing. Whatever your arrival time is, I would add 2 hours (ship's time). Be aware that Cozumel is not on ship's time. Rare silentbob007 Posted October 19, 2006 #9 Share Posted October 19, 2006 Even if you are the only ship in port, still don't count on docking. When I was on the Miracle in September, we were told we were going to dock, then had to tender.
