Do you eat all you order or take at the buffet?

I try to make a goal to try at least one new thing everyday of the cruise, either on the ship or in port. On the ship, I find the best place for this is usually at the buffet since there is so much to choose from plus you can look and see what if it looks appealing. So far, I have had good luck with this approach. I have only found one or two things that I did not eat.

In the dining room I always ask for small portions and I don't order all the choices, I don't order a salad and soup and appetizers etc. I sometimes order only the soup and dessert. And at the buffet I take small amounts. I do not like food waste. We once had a waiter who kept trying to bring us more and we kept telling him to take it back.

I take what I know what I'll eat.

But, I will try a very tiny portion of something new, if I don't like it, at least I feel I am not wasting so much.

That's because I am a selective eater and only choose the things I KNOW I like such as fruit, veggies, bread, meatless pastas, etc. I almost never take meat, fish or desserts because with few exceptions, I loathe all of those things.

However, if I do happen to get something I don't like I don't eat it - life is too short.
