Shutterbug2 Posted November 2, 2006 #1 Share Posted November 2, 2006 We've only cruised once b4 on a 7 day-er, so forgive me the question if it seems dumb. We are doing a New Year's eve Carnival cruise to Bahamas for four days. I'm assuming NYE is formal? We haven't recieved any formal itinerary info. So I'm wondering if hubby can get away without a suit jacket, just pants, shirt and tie. I have a formal dress, do kids dress up too? My kids would love too, but my 10 year old son in particular will be very embarassed if he wears his suit but no other boys are dressed up. Anyone know what the norm is? caviargal Posted November 2, 2006 #4 Share Posted November 2, 2006 If you are wearing a formal dress, IMO your husband should dress in a suit. No one but Carnival can confirm that NYE will be a formal night but IME, the lines all make a major event of it. I sincerely doubt your kids would be the only one in suits. These sailings are full of families and the holiday cruises particularly festive.
Arubalisa Posted November 3, 2006 #5 Share Posted November 3, 2006 You may try asking your question in the Carnival forum, but I am going to agree with caviargirl that if everyone else is dressed up, a suit would be appropriate attire your your husband.
