TomMMD Posted November 6, 2006 #1 Share Posted November 6, 2006 I was in a store over the weekend and they were playing Christmas music so I guess the season has officially started. Looking for suggestions for a Christmas gift for my wife that would be relevant to the cruise we are taking next September in the Eastern Med. * Gadgets? * Travel books? didan Posted November 6, 2006 #2 Share Posted November 6, 2006 Hi Tom, We'll be sailing with you! What a thoughtful guy when comes to gifts! For me, I love reading up on the ports we'll be visiting, so I think a cruise guide to those ports would be great. It will really whip up the excitment! Or travel items that are useful - I've gotten things from Magellans.com or Travelsmith.com Magellan's is better for gadgets - I got a waterproof travel belt and a organizer purse that protects against pickpockets. Travelsmith also has gadgets, but lots of clothing that is wrinkle free and easy to pack.

caviargal Posted November 7, 2006 #5 Share Posted November 7, 2006 Since you will be cruising the Med, perhaps a great travel bag by Magellan would be handy. I just bought one for my mom based on the recommendation of ladies on the fashion board and it has a long shoulder strap with a steel cable running through it; lots of pockets and very safe. Is she a photo buff? Maybe a new digital camera? How about something special in one of the ports of call, like a private excursion? I love the Med and know you will have a wonderful cruise! TomMMD Posted November 7, 2006 Author #6 Share Posted November 7, 2006 re: Travel Books. I started looking at travel books yesterday and too many of them have too much about places we WON"T be going to. Several years ago we got a cruise-oriented book on the ports of call for our Alaska cruise. Is there a similar one for this Eastern Med cruise? p.s. Several excellent suggestions so far. frankathy Posted November 7, 2006 #7 Share Posted November 7, 2006 Books are always great. I have been given the following and I always put them in the suitcase: Battery Powered Candle Pocket Fan Tiara for formal nights ( oh come on be queen for a day) Magnetic Flop Flops for the metal door Can opener / Cork Screw Champange bottle sealer (great when the Muster Drill interupts the first glass) Coin Tray packs flat but makes into a coin / junk holder What ever you get her I am sure she will appreciate it.
