Cruise Ship lines web site should have postings of shore excursions available. Horseback riding, nature walk, snorkle rental, kayak, snorkle by boat, etc. It is also a nice place to kick back and enjoy beach.

Recommend booking excursion early if it is popular. When you hit details, should give times available, such as 10 am, 1pm snorkle and so forth you can select as if you are going to book and see if times you perfer is available. This will give you an idea how booked it is.

Actual booking via net is closed about 2 wks before sailing. Can then book when you get on ship. Have done both ways. If you book via net can cancel within so many days of excursion/activity and get refund to account, or credit tward another excursion depending on how many days til actual excursion. Web site will give you details. read carefully.

Nice picnic served by Holland on Half Moon Cay. Nice clean beach! Enjoy! Will be there in Dec.

Going on a cruise in Jan, what do people do in Half Moon Cay, ship is docked from 7am - 3pm. Thanks

Unfortunately, the ship doesn't dock there. She will anchor there and you will take a tender ashore.

Check your cruise line's website, either Hollandamerican.com or Carnival. Since both of the cruise lines visit HMC, they would be your best source of information.

Second choice for info would be the Private islands section here on Cruise Critic.
