Should I change cabins for on OBC?

OK here is the deal...in May I booked our December cruise on the Conquest. At the time they had an upgrade special going on...I paid for an 8a cadin and was able to choose a specific 8e cabin (on the Panoroma deck). Well, anyway, the cruise is now 1 month out & of course they are having specials to sell out the ship. If I down grade to an 8a (but the current special will put me in an 8b where I can choose my cabin on deck 7) I will get a total of $102 of OBC or I can do the BL gaurantee and receive a total of $302 OBC. I have never been on a cruise before so regadless of what I do it will be a new experience. I am hesitant about taking the "downgrade" and the OBC because I understand the Panorama deck is one of the best desks as far as location is concerned plus I like the idea that it is a short deck of cabins with alot less foot traffic. I don't think the current 8a deal (with free upgrade to 8b) would be worth it to "downgrade". If I do it I think I am only interested in the 8a gaurantee for the ($302 OBC). Any other opinions?

I would take the 8A and the cash, but that is just me, then I can double it up in the casino.

 

Conquest ships don't have any obstructed balconies, you may have some noise, but I am out late.

 

Choice is yours, we don't know your situation.

Personally, I would take the BL GTY and the OBC. I could care less my cabin location because I don't do a lot of sleeping on a cruise and the noises usually don't bother me. And I'm all about saving $$! :D

Panorama is a great deck... but I'd still take the guarantee and the cash :D

Take the gty and the cash. You will love having the credit. You can't go wrong with any balcony on the Conquest.:)

Thanks for all the replys. I am seriously considering switching to the Balcony GTY. I was looking at the deck plans and see that all the bars/discos/etc are under the 8a cabins.....so my question is....does anyone have any experience with these cabins as to how much noise can be heard? Thanks

We had AFT balconies on the upper deck on the Conquest... yes, we could VERY clearly hear when the band was playing... woke me up from my nap one day, LOL... but we go to bed late so the evenings weren't an issue.

I would go with the 8A Guarantee and the 302.00 or so dollars... who knows that 8A could very easily land you that 8E.:D

 

302.00 is a lot of change, especially when everything adds up. The 302.00 will very well pay for 2 excursions for 2pp
