We booked though costco, when we received documents they gave us 2 MCI calling cards, will they work in the western carribean?

You should call the MCI customer service number (usually on the back of the card) and ask. Most prepaid calling cards work through toll free numbers which are not "toll free" outside the USA and Canada. They may have special access local numbers for your destinations (for more units/minute). Call them and check.
