Packaged boxes at the pier.

We are going to Fex Ex (or UPS) ourselves a box to our hotel. We are flying in, but there are some thing that could ship well (like a big box of diaper, blow up pool, etc.). The hotel is fine with us shipping the box there before we arrive. My question is, can we keep the box sealed and just slap one of our baggage lables on it at the pier?

We are sailing out of Ft. Lauderdale. There won't be any food or anything like that in the box. Just things that once they are used, we won't be bringing back so no need to put them in our luggage (and no real wat to haul 100 diapers!).
