Best Excursions, Costa Maya & Georgetown

I have a group on the Grandeur leaving New Orleans on December 30. Anybody been on an excursion in Costa Maya and/or Georgetown that they would strongly recommend? Age ranges from 16 to 45.

In Costa Maya we went on an independent excursion to the Mayan ruins with David and Ivan. They had been highly recommended here on CC, and their reputation was well deserved.

 

In GC we went on the Buccaneer for a wonderful time with the stingrays and snorkeling.

We took a snorkel and stingray tour with Capt. Marvin's in GC. Great tour!

Captain Marvins in GC is an excellent choice, as the previous poster mentioned. I have not done the tour with Ivan and David, but have only heard good things about it. Good luck and have a great trip!!

Years ago, we toured the ruins at Tulum. I would imagine that those ruins are similar to the ones outside Costa Maya. Are there any alternatives to the ruins tour that anyone would recommend while in Costa Maya?

Costa Maya: Boat blast and snorkel. beautiful offshore coral reef, you get there in a two person high speed boat...you drive!

 

Plus a nice beach, friendly folks run the place, a really nice mellow day (only available through the ship)
