Question about birth certificates & Carnival

DH just had his birth certificate amended to reflect his given name instead of his whole 1st name. My question is, will Carnival accept a certified amended birth certificate? He just got his certified copies in the mail, and at the top it says Amended Birth Certificate. It does have the state seal, and all of the original information in it though. Wonder if he can use it to get a passport also, so maybe we won't have to worry about using the birth certificate with Carnival? At either rate, do you guys think using this would be accepted? Yes, no problem, my DD has a 2 page amendment and it was excepted just fine with not even a second glance.
