Spirit Class vs Destiny Class Comparisons

I know it's a pretty broad question but I'm used to the layout on the Destiny class ships and older. We're thinking about the Miracle and I see the biggest difference is the Promenade deck is lower and is really split into 2 decks with the Atlantic. I'm so used to all the action being on the one Promenade deck. I kinda like the frenzy of all the passengers coming and going. I also like the main bar outside the casino at night. You get to see some great and weird things as the night rolls on. I also see the capacity is around 2100 and the Victory was 2750 or so. Although we're in our 40's we like to stay up late and I'm wondering if the nightlife is more subdued with everything seemingly spread out more. when we went on Princess, although the ship was fantastic, the late night was lacking. Now that I think about it, I highly doubt that could happen on our Cruiseline, but one never knows. The different layoff does appeal to us because of the newness and also the Supper Club will be used by us.

Oh, woe is me. I know I can't have anything but fun, so any comments are welcome. God, I've missed this sick obsession of a message board

FIG have been on both clases of ship and both are different in lots of way. But both are fun ships to be on .

The Spirit class ships are much easier to navigate as for as passengers are concerned. Much better floor plan to learn where and how to get from one section to the next.

Have found that it depends on the itinary and time of year you travel as far as nightlife on ships go.

But on any ship if you can get a group together you can make your own party or do like us bring a group of 12 or more and you have an instant party every night.:D

I have been on both and I prefer the spirit class. We were in balconies on both ships and it was nice to have the refrig on the spirit class. Also the buffet area was layed out so much better. There were four stations instead of the two. I also thought the decor was much nicer on the Pride than the triumph. The seating in the theater was a lot more comfortable also. But I had fun on both ships.

I much preferred the layout of the Legend (Miracle's sister ship) to the Triumph. On the Legend, the Promenade goes through the casino. There is a great bar located in the casino with a seating area. There was usually live music at that bar. We will be on the Legend for the third time in March.:D

I forgot to say something about the buffet. Yes, the Taste of Nations is a great idea. It is set up as stations instead of just two lines. Each station is serving something different. You have to check out all four stations before deciding. More choices makes for tougher decisions.:D

I have only been on the Spirit Class, so I can help you in that department.

I was on the Miracle in October and found the night life to be somewhat lacking. Everything was over (except the nightclub) at 11:30, even the atrium bar was closed by midnight. As for the decor, that's a question of personal prefence. but I was unimpressed by the Miracle's whimsical designs. Here's a link to my review on the Miracle and mid way through there is a photo album link, but it's not highlighted or anything...:)

I have only been on Spirit class (Pride and Miracle). We loved both our cruises. I like the layout of Spirit class, because our cabins have been on Riviera deck and everything except the Lido deck and the gym are just one or two quick flights of stairs up from the Riviera. Casino, bars, dining room, shops, show room ~ all on decks 2 & 3.

The Miracle does have the reputation of being a quieter ship in terms of night life. We never lacked for entertainment and had LOTS of fun, but our 20-year old son was wishing the night life was a little livelier. There were fun parties up on Lido a few nights, and we enjoyed the piano bar although it wasn't quite as lively as some others I've been to (not on ships, though). We spent lots of time in the casino and casino bar. We were cruising during Spring Break.

The Miracle is a great ship. Good luck with your choice! :)

Thanks to all responders. I like what you guys have said about the Spirit class. I'm curious to research about the Miracle's rep for a quieter ship. I'm sure the 8 day length is a factor. I didn't think the one day would be much of a difference though. I would never take a 10 day-er because it's obvious the age factor skews way up. One reviewer said the piano bar was closed almost every night. I've certainly never seen this on Carnival, but who knows. I'm now gonna focus on the Miracle itself. Thanks so much........
