Disembarking

Recommended Posts

When my cruise ends, my ship is scheduled to arrive in port at 8:00a.m. in Galveston.

I have a friend picking me up.

What time should I tell them to be there? Will I get off shortly after 8:00, or could it be 10:00 before I am able to leave the ship?

Thanks for the help.

I haven't cruised from Galveston, but each cruise I have been on takes several hours to disembark. From what I've learned recently though, you can get off quicker if you pack light and take your bags off the ship yourself.

It's so 'iffy', you can't tell the exact time. I recently picked up some friends from the Conquest (docked at 8am) and I arrived at 8:45 - they didn't get off the ship till almost 10.

Take a cell phone and call when your color is called. I wouldnt want friends waiting outside for hours.

When the documents say the ship is docked at 8am = they usually are little earlier then that but must wait til customs clear the ship.
