wakayaker Posted November 26, 2006 #1 Share Posted November 26, 2006 We have over nights in each port and we are thinking of getting a car for both days. Does anyone know if there is parking at or near either port for rental cars? Thanks!
Deb in Cali Posted November 26, 2006 #2 Share Posted November 26, 2006 There are two port options in Maui. So make sure that you are going to be in the same port two days in a row. If your port is Lahaina, then there is ample parking about two to three blocks from the tender dock. We paid 3 dollars for overnight parking at a shopping center. :p
wakayaker Posted November 27, 2006 Author #3 Share Posted November 27, 2006 Thanks Deb, I forgot to mention which port we would be in. We are going to be in the Port in kahului, I am assuming since it doesn't say anything different that it would be for both days, however I will check. MISWANS Posted November 27, 2006 #4 Share Posted November 27, 2006 We were in Maui just a short week ago. :( We parked overnight at the dock in Kuhlui. There was plenty of parking. Some of it was very close to the dock; but it was a small area. The other lot was just a short walk away. Both were free. We did not have to pay for either. In Kauai the parking was at the Aloha Center Marketplace, (I think that was the name of it.) It was a very short walk from the pier. It was $10 there for overnight parking. It worked out very well for us. We had a helicopter tour through Will Squyres at 11:00am. They picked us up at the pier at 10:15 and took us out to their registration desk and then to the helipad. We took our flight (outstanding) and then afterwards they dropped us off at Thrifty. So we kept the car overnight and returned it within the 24 hr period. It was like getting a car for two days! We loved Hawaii! Marie
