Key West on New Years Eve

We'll be in Key West from 7-5pm on New Years Eve. We are considering doing the Trolley, but didn't know if anything special was happening during the day for NY Eve. Basically thought we'd walk around and bar hop and relax a bit.

Is there any advantage to buying the trolley tour on the ship or on shore?

Thanks

You have a variety of events for NYE here!! Duval street will be crowded with revelers...so if you don't mind the crowds, definitely see the sights. Sloppy Joe's bar has it's annual Conch shell drop at midnight...Schooner Wharf bar holds the "Dropping of the wench" party which has the bar owner lowered from the mast of a sailing schooner...and the famous "Red Shoe Drop" in the 800 block of Duval. This one has been live on CNN for past several years...a local drag queen Sushi in a giant red slipper. A must see!

In the past there has also been fireworks from the Casa Marina area but I have not heard if they are doing them this year due to their renovations.

Have fun!

DaBlondeBabe...thank you! We are busily trying to find a place to stay, once that is nailed down...I'm sure just running around Duval and seeing what we can will be in order. We are planning on seeing Hemingway's, Fisher's, the lighthouse and of course riding the world famous conch train!:D
