kootz Posted November 30, 2006 #1 Share Posted November 30, 2006 I would like to know if on the last morning of the cruise, do they allow you to stay on board but not in your cabin. We have been on other cruiselines that will put your bags in "storage" and allow you to still enjoy the boats facilities. Our flight out of LAX is the red eye and we were thinking of touring some of Long Beach before going to the airport. I have checked the area for day rooms but could only find that at the airport. dougburns Posted November 30, 2006 #2 Share Posted November 30, 2006 They want you out of your stateroom by 0830. They normally start offloading @ 0900. They call you by your departure times, but everyone is off the ship by @ 1030-1100, unless there is trouble with customs. After that you're on your own unless you're on rssc air, in which case they will normally have a hospitality suite or day room somewhere. If you're doing your own air and have a late flight, you have to make your own arrangements. No, you can't hang around the ship.
JDRMYS Posted November 30, 2006 #3 Share Posted November 30, 2006 The only cruise line that I know of that lets people stay on board is Silversea, and that service is not available in every port. You also have to pay for it. Instead, why don't you see the IDS representative on board and ship your luggage home. You can have your day in Long Beach unencumbered and have a much easier time with security at the airport -- LAX is really a mess and you'll be glad to go through it with as little to carry as possible. kootz Posted November 30, 2006 Author #4 Share Posted November 30, 2006 Thanks for the info...Too bad for us, it would have been nice. On the Tahitian Princess and on the Winstar we were able to put our luggage in one of their "storage" areas, which usually was the specialty reataurants. Then we were able to leave the ships or use the pool areas until a certain time. It was nice for many people with late flights. And we certainly did not pay any extra for it.
