Rare jeffreytg Posted December 1, 2006 #1 Share Posted December 1, 2006 During the last six months this board and others have been fantastic sources of information concerning my future cruise experienceon Carnival Spirit to the Mexican Riviera on 12/17. I'd like to give everyone the opportunity to ask questions in advance so that I can take them down and respond upon my return. Be as specific as you like. Just list them here and I'll do my best to observe and respond objectively. bnsheegirl Posted December 1, 2006 #2 Share Posted December 1, 2006 All I ask is that you write a review, with info, tips, etc when you get back. I haven't seen too many current reviews of the Spirit's Mexican Riviera cruise and we are going on January 10th. Have a wonderful time!

PeggySand Posted December 2, 2006 #4 Share Posted December 2, 2006 Our two grandkids will be on our Spirit cruise (with their parents and uncle) on Dec. 9th. I have been afraid to get my hopes up that the slide might really be open. Did you try it? This is such GREAT news, thanks. Did you try the Supper Club? If so, how was it. I am in the process of talking everyone into eating there one night. Thanks, Peggy

I asked the workers on embarkation day if they were almost done and one of them said they hoped to have it done by the end of the cruise. Well, the next day, my DDs came running up to me saying the slide was open and asking my permission to go down it. I only saw kids, no adults. I don't know that they were limiting it to kids, I just think there were so many families, parents didn't want to get in the way of the kids having fun. JMHO. HUNNY BUN Posted December 2, 2006 #6 Share Posted December 2, 2006 On past cruises, we went on the galley tour. On my last one (Jan. 06 - Triumph), we were told those had been stopped since 9/11. But I saw photos on a site of what they said was a galley tour on the Spirit back in November. Hope to be able to take this tour during Jan 18, 07 sailing. Can you please check on this for me? Thanks and have a wonderful cruise!!
Family Man Posted December 2, 2006 #7 Share Posted December 2, 2006 They offered a tour of the galley on our cruise a couple of weeks ago.
HUNNY BUN Posted December 2, 2006 #8 Share Posted December 2, 2006 Thanks for that info. I think this is one of the most interesting aspects of the ship's operations. Waiting and longing for paradise on the Mexican Riviera..................:o

SL HomeschoolMom Posted December 3, 2006 #10 Share Posted December 3, 2006 Thanks so much for asking in advance. Our family is going on the Spirit in Feb. I would love it if you could post a copy of the capers (maybe even the menus) on webshots, or some other site. We will have one son in the 12-14 age group, and another in O2, so those capers would be greatly appreciated as well. My older son is interested in what Club O2 is like...I've heard it's on Deck 10 forward, but it's not on the ship's deck plan...is there a dance floor, place to buy virgin daiquiris, etc? Out of curiousity, I'd like to know which side of the ship is the docked side in Acapolco & Manzanillo. Also, what time you arrive at for embarkation & how busy it is, and how debarkation goes. Thanks again, and have a great cruise! Shari
Dcmomlv@aol.com Posted December 8, 2006 #11 Share Posted December 8, 2006 :D :D :D Hello everyone. Finally...I am able to post, I was having alot of trouble. We will be sailing on the Spirit on 12-17-06. It will be me, my husband who never likes me to use his real name on these things so we will just call him "Sky", hahaha, I will also have my 15 yr old daughter. On 10-29-06 we took her on her first cruise RCCL Visions. We loved it so much that we booked this cruise such a short time later. I cannot take her out of school......so here we are, during winter break. We will be driving in from Las Vegas and would like some info on a CHEAP place to stay the day before the cruise. Also.........do we find a place that would park our car during the cruise or should we just park at the pier? We cannot seem to find a shuttle from any of the hotels. It is nice to know that other teens will be joining us. We generally like to find a hotel while we are in port to hang out for the day. Any pointers from anyone??? Rare jeffreytg Posted December 9, 2006 Author #12 Share Posted December 9, 2006 Hi Dcmomlv, Some info on the roll call- if you have a sec you might want to take a look. As for parking- there is a lot directly across the street from the cruise ship terminal- I am a local and that is where I will be parking. There is also a Holiday Inn directly acorss the street if you like Holiday Inn's. I would not call it cheap- but it is within walking distance and relatively cheap by downtown standards.
