I didn't go to the idol competition, though I heard it was fabulous. If you went to family feud, I was the stage fright petrified member of the first team on the right that crashed and burned (i.e. rubenesque (translation "fat") 40 year old blonde with hair probably too long for stated age :). The guys in the group I was with signed my best friend and I up for that without telling us. I was like, "What fresh hell is this?" I actually enjoyed that show immensely. People's answers were so unexpectedly funny.

 

What did you sing for your song on idol? I've been playing Josh Turner nonstop in my car lately. One of my patient's was listening to him one day and I had both of his CDs by nightfall -- fabulous, like a young Johnny Cash. Hard to believe he's only 29. Hope he tours Florida soon.

Josh Turner, huh? My son loves Johnny Cash so he might like him. I'll have to ask if he's heard of him. I did "I Fall to Pieces" and "Crazy" by Patsy cline. finale night I did "Stand by your Man". I grew up singing in my dad's country western band so I've got country flowing through my veins. didn't win, but had a great time.

I'm sure the audience REALLY appreciated your songs as Patsy's pretty universally loved and you have life--long training. What act did win it and what did they win?

 

Josh Turner has an unusually deep baritone like Johnny Cash did. Apparently he showed up as a practical unknown at the Grande Ole Opry four years ago and the audience just freaked at his talent. He took off like a rocket after that.
