memoie Posted December 12, 2006 #1 Share Posted December 12, 2006 We are flying in the day before our cruise so we can explore some of what SJ has to offer. We've heard a lot about Juan Carlos and his Flamenco Rumba Show and would love to go to this. We will be staying at the El Convento. Where do we get tickets for this? Is this on every night of the week or only on the weekends and about what time is it? about how far is this from our hotel? we have an 11 & 12 year with us and we think this would help them to understand some of the culture of another country, I know they'd love to see it as well. Can we take the kids or is this an adult-only venue? thanks for your help.
cruisin'gal Posted December 13, 2006 #2 Share Posted December 13, 2006 Last I heard his show was at the Intercontinental Hotel, you might try giving them a call. Several months ago I posted the phone number, I don't have it anymore, but you might try a search on this thread. Good luck, Laura

Oaktree Posted December 15, 2006 #4 Share Posted December 15, 2006 From what I have read about Juan Carlos, it seems he appears in other places and is not always in San Juan. Ask at El Convento for information on his show. If it is not available, Barrachina restaurant has a show some nights. You can check with them at 787-725-792. They are not far from your hotel. ajilimojil Posted September 20, 2007 #6 Share Posted September 20, 2007 Enjoy the nightlife that has made San Juan famous. I remember the days when the hotels in Condado and the Caribe Hilton featured the most prestigious and popular performers of the era. It was along the same lines as Vegas - even Liberace came to PR to perform! BTW, that doesn't mean I, personally, saw any of it, though. No money, no show... Rainbowgolf Posted September 20, 2007 #8 Share Posted September 20, 2007 Can someone tell me where this show is(hotel, ect) (and any contact info)and can you go here or other similar show from a hotel and not as a cruise ship excursion? Any info is appreciated! thanks! I have been working on trying to find out where Juan Carlos maybe playing in early December without much luck. I talked with several hotels including the Sands Hotel & Casino, where I was told he was playing, and he no longer performs at the hotel. The Concierge stated that he performs at Fort San Cristobal Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday evenings at 7PM. I have emailed the park service for information and will let you know if this is correct. It is becoming an obsession to find where he is playing if at all. I know if your ship is in port overnight you can book though the cruise line, but I don't know where that performace is held. Any input would be helpful.

JXR Posted September 20, 2007 #10 Share Posted September 20, 2007 When we did the Crown Princess this past April, Juan Carlos did one show on the ship, prior to us leaving port. If you are on the Crown, he might be on it. Joanne

Hi Oaktree! Remember us from Owensboro??? Sorry we lost track of each other! So much has happened since our last cruise! But, we're taking our in-laws and our oldest daughter on another one in March 2008. We can't wait to stop in San Juan for the day and show them our favorite city!! I hope you are well! Oaktree Posted October 7, 2007 #16 Share Posted October 7, 2007 Hi Karen, Just saw your name on the board. Think of you often. Went to French Lick for my birthday in Sept. and still have nice nails from the pedicure at the spa! This was a treat from my family. Will be going to San Juan end of Jan and staying to March 4. When will you be there?
